Ras Al Khamiah Free Zone RAKEZ Project is a free trade zone based on the RAK Investment Authority (RAKIA). RAKEZ is the Free Zone subsidiary of RAKIA, and was established in order to effectively manage and operate the establishment of the project. It is a safe natural harbor for big ships, it is one of the pioneer zones in UAE. RAKEZ has been thriving for many years in the processing and manufacturing of semi-finished products used in petrochemicals, plastics, marine equipment. The government of Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ), the sole free trade zone in the UAE, and Ashghal, the upgrade authority of transportation infrastructure in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, have signed a MoU for establishing RAKZ – the new free zone internationally recognized for development promising projects.

Rakez is basically a Government of RAK initiative covering the development of an Industrial and Free Zone for the economic development of the region. The initiative was part of Premier Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s vision to establish comprehensive and integrated industrial infrastructure that would encourage investors to set up high specialization industry which will transform Dhofar Governorate into one of the major centers for industrial activities in the Middle East. RAKEZ terminal is the 1st Free Trade Zone & Logistic Center in UAE. It’s a modern facility supporting industrial, commercial and logistics activities as well as offering business services such as banking, insurance & law whereas it’s also the only airport in Ras Al Khaimah that has its own railway station which makes it more convenient for transfer of cargo to and from all over the world.
