Production City Dubai was established in 1999 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and its purpose was to diversify the economy of Dubai and create an environment that encourages people to be creative and innovative, and to attract the leading international companies to set up their businesses in the city. In 2005 the project expanded and now it boasts more than 8 million square feet of built-up space dedicated to all aspects of the creative industry. Some of this growth is due to strategic business decisions, including the development of Dubai’s film industry and TV broadcasting industry, including the launch of two new free-to-air channels this year. Production City Dubai is considered one of the most important projects in Dubai, due to its location on the outskirts of Dubai and the opportunities it offers to investors and visitors from around the world.
